Greek city of Volos under curfew as of Wednesday evening due to torrential rain

Residents of Volos in the Magnesia prefecture were ordered to stay indoors by police as of 18:40 on Wednesday and forbidden to travel, as heavy rain was falling on the city as of Wednesday afternoon and creating torrents on the roads, ANA reports.

The ‘Elias’ storm has also created problems in the city center and its suburbs, flooding roads, basements, homes, and businesses. The downpour is also threatening to raise again the waters of Krafsidonas River to dangerous levels, as it did during the recent ‘Daniel’ storm.
