Salamis Shipyards delivers the first two Island-type patrol vessels in Greece

Salamis Shipyards on Monday announced the successful completion, on October 10 and 11, of the work for the reactivation of the first two Island-type patrol vessels, as well as all the tests, with the two vessels now docked at the Salamis Naval Station, ANA reports.

The work is proceeding smoothly and on schedule, within budget, and the ships are expected to be delivered to the Hellenic Navy by December 2024.

It is an important and demanding project that requires a combination of knowledge, as it includes repairs, reactivation, and upgrades. The Salamis Shipyards have been pioneers in similar projects in the past and, therefore, their choice for the implementation of the program by the United States Coast Guard did not come as a surprise.

Salamis Shipyards belongs to a “specialized” and rare category of shipyards, highly specialized in complex and high-added-value projects, which require high levels of technical know-how and quality. This, together with a track record of successful delivery of similar projects, within schedule, on budget, and with high quality standards, sets them apart significantly from other yards.
