A large number of hotel groups in the country make donations and other offers for the benefit of local communities. In other cases, they contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects in the destinations where they operate.
For example, the company PANEUROPA S.A., which is an interest of the Mitsis hotel group, requested the Municipality of Hersonissos to contribute to an infrastructure project in the area.
In this context, the municipal committee of the municipality of Hersonissos accepted the company’s donation, which concerns the preparation of an architectural study for the upgrade of the beachfront, at the “Panagia” location in the Anissaras area and specifically on Poseidonos Street from the easternmost point of the MitsisSelectionLaguna hotel and westward for approximately 1,000 meters.
The aim of the study will be the aesthetic upgrade and enhancement of the area while ensuring the safe and pleasant navigation and movement of its residents and visitors.
During the preparation of the study, supervision will be carried out by the Municipality’s Technical Service.

The study will be submitted for approval to the Municipality’s Technical Service at the implementation study stage, with all the required approvals and opinions as well as the tender documents. The donor will also prepare any additional studies or corrections that will be required during the licensing phase.
It is noted that MitsisSelectionLaguna is a luxurious All-Inclusive 24-hour 5-star beach resort in Crete. The hotel opened in May 2011 on the Blue Flag-awarded Anissaras beach, in Hersonissos, Crete. Laguna features 351 luxurious rooms, 6 restaurants, and 6 bars, including the new Wine, Champagne, and Sushi Bar, a state-of-the-art spa, reception and transfer services.
Mitsis Group has been active in tourism for the last 45 years and has 24 hotels and 13 Spa and Thalassotherapy centers in Athens, Halkidiki, Corfu, Kamena Vourla, Crete, Kos, and Rhodes. The first Mitsis Ramira hotel was inaugurated in 1978 on the island of Kos.
Recently, the Group expanded its presence in Halkidiki by taking over the management of the 4-star seaside hotel Alexander the Great, through a management agreement with the international company HotelInvestmentPartners. The hotel, which will open its doors in 2025, is spread over a coastal plot that ends at Kriopigi beach in Kassandra, with a total area of 34 acres and 208 rooms. The property management agreement is the sixth in a row that the Group has made in the last two years following other agreements in Corfu, Crete, Santorini, and Halkidiki.
