Another step towards the sustainability and strengthening of the Galaxidi School of Tourism Education is taking place in the new academic year 2025-2026, with the increase in the number of students that will be hosted in its facilities from 20 to 45.
This decision, as emphasized in a relevant announcement, is the result of actions by the municipality of Delphi in collaboration with the Deputy Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament for Fokida Ioannis Bougas and the director of the school Stellios Moschonas, and received a positive response from the Ministry of Tourism.
It is recalled that the then Deputy Minister of Tourism Elena Rapti had visited the facilities in January 2024, supporting the efforts to restore the institution of hospitality.
This significant increase in hospitality capacity is expected to increase the interest of new students, making the school attractive again, especially to students from outside the region who do not have accommodation.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 60 students will be able to study for the new year: 30 in the “Hospitality Unit Executive” department and 30 in the “Culinary Art Technician – Chef” department. In addition, through daily internships, it is planned to provide at least one meal per day for each student.
Admission Process – Application Deadline
Applications for the year 2025-26 are submitted electronically from July 18 to September 15, 2025, to the Ministry’s special liaison for Public Schools of Tourism Education (link in the first comment). The selection process and the terms of accommodation will be announced with the publication of the results.
Facilitations for I.E.K. and EPAL Graduates
The new announcement of the Ministry includes beneficial provisions for graduates of I.E.K., EPAL, T.E.L. Second Cycle and EPL, who can avoid attending courses that have already been taught or even study only in the 2nd year of studies, obtaining the corresponding post-secondary education title.
In the meantime, the mayor of Delphi, Panagiotis Tagkalis, stated “that the reinstatement of the institution of accommodation and now the increase in the number of students who can be accommodated, constitutes a key step for the sustainability of the School. It is crucial this year to have timely information, as the real performance will be reflected over a three-year period. The Galaxidi school is the only one in Greece that offers hospitality, which makes it particularly attractive. Our Municipality will continue to support this effort, offering study opportunities in sectors with high demand in the labor market,” he explained.
