In this context, relevant actions with a total budget of 3.35 million euros were included in the Attica 2021-2027 Program. The actions with the beneficiary being the company PIRAEUS SYN SINGLE PERSON S.A. LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION, are as follows:

-Design and implementation of an Integrated Promotion and Promotion Program for Piraeus and its transformation into a smart tourist destination. The action concerns the implementation of promotional activities and actions through B2B and B2C channels, which will upgrade the destination “DESTINATION PIIRAEUS” through the promotion and dissemination of the image of the country’s first port abroad, through participation in international exhibitions and events, the organization of integrated programs for hosting international tourism industry organizations, as well as the design and implementation of a campaign for the promotion of the Destination “Piraeus”.

-Upgrading the organization of the now established institution of “Sea Days”, which has been organized since 2015 and aims to highlight the aspect of the cultural identity of Piraeus that is inextricably linked to the port and the sea. The Sea Days are organized annually by the Municipality of Piraeus in collaboration with local organizations and associations and include a number of events lasting approximately 5 days.

-Organization of gastronomic festivals such as the “PIRAEUS TASTE FESTIVAL, SEAFOOD AND MORE” which has been held in the city every year in recent years, to highlight and promote the gastronomic identity of Piraeus, which constitutes one of the most dynamic pillars of tourism development for the Municipality, within the framework of which the holding of parallel events in various parts of Piraeus will be included.

The aim is for the municipality of Piraeus to emerge as an international tourist destination, with the main axis being the development of the blue economy – tourism – culture – creative industry complex, so as to exploit the advantages of the Municipality and the development potential of the port and investments in the region.
