Sparta in the Network of Greek Cities for Development

The municipality of Sparta decided to participate as a new regular member in the Intermunicipal Network of Greek Cities for Development.

Among the purposes of the participation of the municipality of Sparta is the specialized guidance provided by the Network in the creation of a development strategy and access to innovative digital tools.

By utilizing tested and reliable technologies, the Network develops digital applications designed to cover both the internal needs of the institutions and their obligations to citizens, offering integrated IT and communications solutions.

It also chooses to actively participate in an evolving reality and in what is known as the cloud, putting the hardware part in the background and highlighting the value of software and services, giving greater flexibility in the offer of software solutions as a service.

In particular, the Network provides, among other things, advisory and technical support to entities implementing development projects and actions, with the aim of improving their administrative and management capacity, the maturation and submission of proposals for the inclusion of projects in sectoral and regional programs, as well as their management and completion

Furthermore, the Network supports services in the preparation of specialized techno-economic reports, studies, and research, with the aim of improving the internal operating procedures and adding value to the entity’s business practices.

In addition, it places particular emphasis on the ongoing education and training of personnel and trains the executives of the institutions through specialized seminars, workshops, production of useful guides, and through the use of a modern distance learning system, focusing on technical knowledge and the dissemination of know-how.

Also, the Network claims financial resources from the central and regional administration within the framework of calls, as a beneficiary of operations independently for the implementation of projects of particular importance in the context of local and regional development.

In the same way, it claims supplementary funding through European and international programs for the implementation of projects outside the framework of the NSRF, autonomously as a Beneficiary of European and International Programs independently, or in collaboration with other institutions from Greece and Europe, etc.
