Ioannina is today becoming the epicenter of the dialogue on sustainable development, hosting the 6th Circular Cities Forum Summit. The national initiative, which aims to promote the circular economy and environmental resilience, is taking place today in the conference room of the Epirus Palace Hotel, under the auspices of the Municipality of Ioannina and the Regional FODSA of Epirus.
This year’s Summit has as its central theme: “Actions to increase recycling – reduce landfill – energy production”, and brings together top representatives of the State, Local Government, the scientific community and the market. Among the guests is the Minister of Environment and Energy, Stefanos Papastavrou.
The Circular Cities Forum, an initiative that was born as a voluntary network with a European perspective, has evolved into a collaborative institution between 20 bodies, actively contributing to the design of policies and the implementation of actions for the circular economy and the sustainability of cities.
Today’s Ioannina meeting aims to strengthen environmental awareness and submit realistic, applicable proposals for the future, aiming for a greener and more sustainable urban planning throughout Greece.
