An international contest for the best food and beverage producers from all over Greece and abroad will take place for the first time in Athens in a unique event that distinguishes the quality of products in the agro-alimentary sector.
Both Greek and foreign food and beverage companies participate and compete for the distinction of exceptional quality in two categories:
· TASTE Olymp Awards 2016, quality contest
· DESIGN Olymp Awards 2016, packaging design contest
Eligible for participation are all branded, packaged and processed or non- processed food and beverages sold in retail stores.
The 4 steps of the Evaluation
1. The blind method is used to taste the products, without packaging or any kind of distinctive features.
2. The samples are evaluated by the Executive Chefs Club of Greece and the European Chefs’ Club.
3.Each judge conducts an organoleptic analysis of the product. The products are evaluated on the basis of their individual properties and do not compete with each other.
4. The panel of judges for the packaging design competition consist of the Greek Graphic Designers Association.
Awards that enhance exports
The awards (gold / silver / bronze) are a means for the enhancement of promotion of the product to both the domestic and export markets. Negotiations for any certified superior taste products have proven to improve sales by making them leading competitors in international markets. It is worth noting that regardless of distinction, all products that enter the contest will hereinafter bear the distinctive certificate of participation in the international Olymp Awards competition.
