From May 7-11, the City of Thessaloniki, the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, TV 100, the Goethe-Institut of Thessaloniki and the Thessaloniki Film Festival host the International Public Television (INPUT) Conference.
The purpose of the conference is to strengthen relations between public service broadcasters from all over the world. At these meetings, public service broadcasters, their employees, and their program developers share ideas, know-how and their belief in the mission of public broadcasting.
The people of INPUT are themselves public service broadcast executives, and each year they organize the conference on a voluntary basis. Following Tokyo in 2015 and Calgary in 2016, and before heading to New York in 2018, Thessaloniki was chosen to welcome the television executives from all five continents. This, the 41st INPUT organization, is the first to be held in Southeastern Europe, specifically in the Thessaloniki port, the grounds of the Thessaloniki Film Festival.
INPUT addresses media professionals who are interested in following the goings-on in international public service broadcasting, and in participating in debates on new, innovative, groundbreaking TV and online programs from all over the world. The conference’s defining feature is the professional level discussions following each screening.
With more than 70 TV programs from all five continents, and covering all genres; and featuring numerous parallel events of special Greek interest, INPUT represents a unique opportunity for Greek public service broadcasters to showcase their role and dynamic, to get in touch with their international network of colleagues, and to share their love for public broadcasting.
