The 2018 NYC Independent Film Festival recently announced that a film from Greece will be part of this year’s festival.
The film is Mum, I’m Back (5 min), directed by Dimitris Katsimiris and its include Gary Dourdan, Sanya Borisova, Orlin Pavlov, Bashar Rahal, Diana Lubenova, James Tumminia
According to the plot, a woman returns, after 40 years, to the village where she was given birth. The cause is the death of her mother. She keeps an old photograph in her hands: a mother with her two sons. Arriving at the cemetery, she encounters the faces of all those she left behind.
The screening is to take place on Saturday, May 12 at 6:45pm
Dimitris Katsimiris was born and raised in Rhodes island. He has studied and worked as a social worker. In recent years he lives and works in Athens as an actor, writer and director in theater. He has written two theatrical plays and he has directed the award-winning short film ‘Birthday’.
The 9th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival, taking place May 7th–May 13th in the heart of New York City, will host an impressive lineup of over 200 films from 35 countries.
The venue for the Festival is The Producers’ Club, which is in the heart of Manhattan’s theater district at 358 W 44th St, New York, NY 10036.
