A striking montage of Greek-themed images was projected on a central Brisbane bridge as part of the Paniyiri Greek Festival held in Australia this weekend.
According to a report in Australia’s Curier Mail, the projection will be repeated during the weekend as thousands of Greeks, Greek-Australians or just friends of Greece get together for the famous Festival.
The montage includes a collage of images of artist Michael Zavros’ children. Zavros is an acclaimed local artist and also notes he is a proud Greek.
He came up with the artwork, called Caryatid, in cooperation with Brisbane City Council’s Urban Design Team.
“Caryatid was made to coincide with Brisbane’s Paniyiri festival and projected on to the bridge over (this) weekend, celebrating all things ‘Greek’,’’ he was quoted as commenting by Curier Mail.
