The Greek island of Corfu in the Ionian Sea is to again host a popular U.K. drama based on the life of author Gerald Durrell.
Broadcaster ITV has recommissioned another series of The Durrells, an award-winning drama based on a trilogy of books written by Durrell when his family lived on the Ionian island during the 1930s.
British actor Keeley Hawes will return as Louisa Durrell for six new episodes to be written by acclaimed BAFTA-winning author Simon Nye.
The series follows Louisa and her four children, ranging from age 11 to adulthood, as they move to Greece due to economic pressures along with the loss of their father. There they experience intriguing personal journeys while adjusting to a new home and culture.
Also re-joining the cast will be Greek popular actor Alexis Georgoulis who plays Spiro, a driver and love interest for Louisa Durrell.
The fourth series of the popular show will be filmed on Corfu island and the first episodes of the new season are to air in 2019.
