With the message that tourism “must be in our hearts,” Tourism Minister Haris Theoharis spoke to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Friday about the significance of the tourism sector, on the occasion of World Tourism Day and its 2019 theme “Tourism and Jobs: A Better Future for All”.
“Tourism means contact with each other, knowledge, translation – not only verbal but of visitors’ experiences. It means learning how others live, how they enjoy food, how they have fun and having fun with them,” Theoharis said talking about the importance of tourism on a global scale.
“This is what we are celebrating today and this is what we want to show the entire world: that the Greek way of life is a way of life that everyone can experience, even if only for a few days as a visitor to Greece,” he continued.
