The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF) announced a special in-person screening of Sonia Liza Kenterman’s heart-warming feature debut, Tailor, which will be held at the St. Sophia Huffington Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 8, 6 PM reception and 7 PM screening. Kenterman will be there to present her film and answer questions. The event is co-presented by the St. Sophia Huffington Center and is free with a suggested donation of $10. On Sunday, October 29 (time TBD), at St. Sophia Huffington Center, a special in-person screening will be held of the poetic, feature-length documentary Mauthausen by Panagiotis Kuntouras and Aristarchus Papadaniel. The film includes Mauthausen Cantata, the masterpiece musical memorial of the martyrdom, with lyrics by Greek poet Iakovos Kambanellis, a Mauthausen concentration camp survivor, and music by Mikis Theodorakis. The event is co-presented by the St. Sophia Huffington Center and is free with a suggested donation of $10.
LAGFF also announced a rare queer-themed screenings program which is available streaming October 9-15. This is a unique opportunity to get a snapshot of queer life from the perspective of Greek filmmakers. The program will be offered on LAGFF’s online platform powered by Eventive – free with registration.
