The lighting of the Georgios Schwartz Mansion in the village of Ampelakia, near Larisa, is to be revamped as part of a project for the conservation and refurbishing of its murals and wooden elements, the culture ministry announced on Sunday, ANA reports.
Culture Minister Lina Mendoni noted that the mansion, constructed in 1787 and completed in 1798 was a visitable monument, which was built as a residence but also served as the headquarters of the Ampelakia Cooperative, which had traded in the region’s signature red yarn.
