The annual Summit of the Women Political Leaders (WPL) network will take place in Athens on April 19-21, under the auspices of the President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, ANA reports.
WPL, a global network of women politicians, has as its mission the rise of the number and influence of women in political leadership positions.
The Ministries of Tourism and Cohesion & Family Affairs will organize the WPL Athens Summit 2024, and all three parties signed a related agreement.
During the WPL summit, awards will be presented to women politicians – including Sakelaropoulou – who have helped in the fight for the elimination of stereotypes and discrimination in politics.
Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni expressed her satisfaction at the broader cooperation that has arisen for the WPL Athens Summit 2024. She stressed that Greece is showing the way with the initiative to host this summit, as it provides a platform for women leaders of the world and defends equality in politics and, by extension, in all sectors.
