The Federation of Cypriot American Organizations (FCAO) convened its annual National Convention on November 9 at Terrace on the Park in Corona, Queens, NY. The event was attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and over 100 delegates representing the FCAO chapter members. AHEPA Supreme President and FCAO Past President Savas Tsivicos was elected as the Chairman of the National Convention.
Throughout the convention, chapter members presented reports on their activities for the past year. Furthermore, FCAO President Kyriacos Papastylianou gave a presentation detailing the federation’s achievements since his election in 2016.
The convention included remarks from Consul of Greece in New York Petros Dorizas, Fr. Evagoras Constantinides on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America; AHEPA Supreme President Savas Tsivicos, PSEKA President Philip Christopher, Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Maria Pappas, and Cyprus Children’s Fund President Nicos Zittis.
In addition, the FCAO awarded nine scholarships of $2,500 each to undergraduate students of Hellenic descent. This merit-based scholarship program recognizes outstanding academic achievements and is made possible through the generous contributions of dedicated community members and supporters.
The 2024 scholarship recipients are: Yorgos Evros Vasilliou, Julia Nicole Gifford, Chrysanthe Nicole Frangos, Eleni Demetriades, Phoebe Helen Chambers, Nicholas Angelakos, Andreas Socratous, Andrea Konstantinou, and Alexander Christou.
The FCAO expressed its deepest gratitude to the generous sponsors of the 2024 Scholarship Awards: Mr. and Mrs. Stelios and Ellie Aniftos, Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, FCAO, Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, Maria Pappas, Kyriacos Papastylianou, Savas Tsivicos, Terrace on the Park, and Stamatiki Valiotis.
During the afternoon session of the convention, delegates elected the new Board of Directors for the 2024-2026 term.

The newly elected Board of Directors for the 2024-2026 term is as follows:
Executive Officers- President Kyriacos Papastylianou, Executive Vice President Margarita Eracleous Likas, Vice President of Philanthropic Activities Despina Axiotakis, Vice President of Education and Religion Andreas Christou, Vice President of Culture Yannis Christodoulides, Vice President of Public Relations Stelios Tsappas, Treasurer Arianna Christou, and General Secretary Toula Hadjioannou.
Board Members: Christos Achillides, Orestes Anastasiou, Loukas Georgiou, Michael Hadjiloucas, Constantinos Polydorou, George Varvatsoulis, and Andrew Lambiris (President of Nepomak USA – ex officio).
The FCAO congratulates the newly elected Board members and wishes them a successful term. The FCAO also expresses its deepest gratitude to all outgoing FCAO Board members for their dedicated service.

The Federation of Cypriot American Organizations (FCAO) is a non-profit entity representing 28 Greek-Cypriot-American associations located throughout the United States. Its mission is to develop good relations and solidarity amongst its chapters, to promote their goals, and to represent their interests and the coordination of their social, educational, philanthropic, and cultural activities.
