Greek Tourism Minister takes part at sector events in Paris

Greece’s Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, is visiting Paris, in the context of promoting the strategic goal of the Ministry of Tourism to expand visitor numbers throughout the country and throughout the 12 months of the year, as France is an extremely important tourist target market, which is ranked among the top countries of inbound tourism in Greece.

The Minister will participate in the Delphi Paris Forum II as a speaker, on the topic “Cultural Giants in a Competitive Global Tourism Market: The Case of France and Greece” at the Cercle de l’ Union Interalliée, while she is scheduled to attend the event, entitled “Culture and Creativity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” at UNESCO House.

During her stay in Paris, the Minister of Tourism granted interviews to French media and held a series of contacts with French tourism organizations.

In particular, she spoke with the deputy editor-in-chief of Le Figaro Florent Maillet, the journalist Frédéric Mouren de Poligny of the online newspaper LaQuotidienne.fr and the editor-in-chief of L’Echo Touristique Linda Lainé.

Kefalogianni spoke about the importance of the French market for Greek tourism. She referred to the new record year that Greece achieved in terms of international visitor arrivals and receipts. She also underlined that, according to official data from the Bank of Greece for 2024 the number of French tourists in Greece is expected to reach 2 million, for the first time in history.

She also visited the French office of the Hellenic Tourism Organization to discuss goals and priorities for promoting the country in the French market.
