With another original, fantastic event, the Rethymno Carnival continued on Saturday night.
The presentation of this year’s carnival theme “Come to the Light” was held with absolute success in the packed QUEENS Room Club with the elements of creativity and imagination dominating.
Besides, as the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Mr. Manos Tsakonas, this year’s carnival has a complete connection with all forms of art and yesterday, the teams’ inspiration in the construction of costumes with a light theme, the dance-theater performance of the theme, the use of video, music and song, composed a truly imaginative event, which aims to be established in the annual program of carnival events in Rethymno.
The evening’s presentation was made by the inventive Nikos Mavros.
The dance-theater group of general gymnastics “team fourteen” with coach Liana Georgopoulou and the Elina Panaretaki Dance School participated, which deservedly won the applause of the audience.
The song “Ela sto fos” with lyrics and arrangement by Nikos Markantonis, was performed by him and Niki Fountouli, while the videos and sound were edited by Antonis Zacharakis and Michalis Starakis.
The big event of the evening was the costume contest with the theme of light, which is a dominant element and theme of this year’s carnival. Through this contest, this year’s queen of the Rethymno Carnival was chosen, a title that, with the unanimous opinion of the audience and the committee, was won by the group “Tzitzikotrihides” with Maria Artemiva taking the title.
The carnival groups Asthetoi, Daktilodyktoumenoi, Boubounes, Ekat’ i Koutsika, Potagoniste, Satyroi, Skaravaei, Tsapatsulides, Ipolypoi and Roayal Carnival also participated in the competition and were applauded.
The selection was made by voting via Instagram and with votes from a special jury consisting of Eleni Daga, Pepi Birliraki, Chrysoula Karadaki, Giorgos Giakoumakis, and Manousos Klados.
A particularly moving moment of the evening was the awarding of the beloved and evergreen carnivalist Michalis Karadakis (Karas), who through the historical carnival group “Tromokrates” inspired many generations of carnivalists and contributed with his actions to the establishment of the modern Rethymno Carnival.
The award of the honorary distinction was made by the Mayor of Rethymno, Mr. Giorgis Marinakis, who referred to the substantial contribution of the honoree to the carnival and creative history of our city.
During the evening, this year’s award was also presented to the winning team of the Online Treasure Hunt organized by the group “Indifferent – Incorruptible”. The treasure was found by the members of the group “The Others” who celebrated their victory.
Sponsors of the evening were the Sub-Region of Rethymno – Region of Crete, the Chamber of Rethymno, and MAMOS Beer.
Με ακόμα μια πρωτότυπη, φαντασμαγορική εκδήλωση, συνεχίστηκε το βράδυ του Σαββάτου το Ρεθεμνιώτικο Καρναβάλι.
Η παρουσίαση της θεματικής του φετινού καρναβαλιού «Έλα στο Φως» πραγματοποιήθηκε με απόλυτη επιτυχία στο κατάμεστο από κόσμο QUEENS Room Club με τα στοιχεία της δημιουργικότητας και της φαντασίας να κυριαρχούν.
Άλλωστε, όπως τόνισε ο Αντιδήμαρχος Πολιτισμού κ. Μάνος Τσάκωνας, το φετινό καρναβάλι έχει απόλυτη διασύνδεση με όλες τις μορφές των τεχνών και χθες, η κατάθεση έμπνευσης των ομάδων στην κατασκευή στολών με θέμα το φως, η χοροθεατρική απόδοση της θεματικής, η χρήση βίντεο, μουσικής και τραγουδιού, συνέθεσαν μια πραγματικά ευφάνταστη εκδήλωση, που στόχος είναι να καθιερωθεί στο ετήσιο πρόγραμμα των καρναβαλικών δρώμενων του Ρεθύμνου.
Την παρουσίαση της βραδιάς έκανε ο ευρηματικός Νίκος Μαύρος.
Συμμετείχαν η χοροθεατρική ομάδα γενικής γυμναστικής «team fourteen» με προπονήτρια την Λιάνα Γεωργοπούλου και η Σχολή Χορού της Ελίνας Παναρετάκη που κέρδισαν επάξια το χειροκρότημα του κοινού.
Το τραγούδι «Έλα στο φως» σε στίχους και διασκευή του Νίκου Μαρκαντώνη, ερμηνεύτηκε από τον ίδιο και την Νίκη Φουντούλη ενώ τα βίντεο και τον ήχο επιμελήθηκαν οι Αντώνης Ζαχαράκης και ο Μιχάλης Σταράκης.
Το μεγάλο γεγονός της βραδιάς ήταν ο διαγωνισμός στολής με θέμα το φως, που αποτελεί κυρίαρχο στοιχείο και θεματική του φετινού καρναβαλιού. Μέσα από τον διαγωνισμό αυτό αναδείχθηκε η φετινή βασίλισσα του Ρεθεμνιώτικου Καρναβαλιού, τίτλο, τον οποίο με την σύμφωνη γνώμη κοινού και επιτροπής, κέρδισε η ομάδα «Τζιτζικοτρίχιδες» με την Μαρία Αρτέμιβα να παίρνει τον τίτλο.
Στον διαγωνισμό συμμετείχαν ακόμα και καταχειροκροτήθηκαν οι καρναβαλικές ομάδες Άσχετοι, Δακτυλοδυκτούμενοι, Μπουμπούνες, Έκατ’ η Κουτσίκα, Ποταγωνιστές, Σάτυροι, Σκαραβαίοι, Τσαπατσούλιδες, Υπόλοιποι και Roayal Carnival.
Η επιλογή έγινε με ψηφοφορία μέσω instagram και με ψήφους ειδικής κριτικής επιτροπής που αποτέλεσαν η Ελένη Δάγκα, η Πέπη Μπιρλιράκη, η Χρυσούλα Καραδάκη, ο Γιώργος Γιακουμάκης και ο Μανούσος Κλάδος.
Ιδιαίτερα συγκινητική στιγμή της βραδιάς ήταν η βράβευση του αγαπημένου και αειθαλούς καρναβαλιστή Μιχάλη Καραδάκη (Καράς), ο οποίος μέσα από την ιστορική καρναβαλική ομάδα «Τρομοκράτες» ενέπνευσε πολλές γενιές καρναβαλιστών και συνετέλεσε με τη δράση του στην καθιέρωση του σύγχρονου Ρεθεμνιώτικου Καρναβαλιού.
Η απονομή της τιμητικής διάκρισης έγινε από τον Δήμαρχο Ρεθύμνης κ. Γιώργη Μαρινάκη, ο οποίος αναφέρθηκε στην ουσιαστική συμβολή του τιμώμενου στην καρναβαλική και δημιουργική ιστορία της πόλης μας.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της βραδιάς έγινε και η απονομή του φετινού βραβείου στην νικήτρια ομάδα του Διαδικτυακού Κυνηγιού του Θησαυρού που διοργάνωσε η ομάδα «Αδιάφοροι – Αδιάφθοροι». Το θησαυρό βρήκαν τα μέλη της ομάδας «Οι Άλλοι» που πανηγύρισαν τη νίκη τους.
Χορηγοί της βραδιάς ήταν η Αντιπεριφέρεια Ρεθύμνου – Περιφέρεια Κρήτης, το Επιμελητήριο Ρεθύμνου και η Μπύρα ΜΑΜΟΣ.
