A significant number of Greek companies participated in this year’s BOOT, the largest International Exhibition of Pleasure Boats and Marine Tourism in the world, which was recently held in D?sseldorf.
This year’s event featured 1,500 exhibitors from 67 countries, while the number of visitors reached 200,000 from 113 countries.
The thematic sections of Boot 2025 spanned 16 exhibition areas and included, among others, Motorboats, Outboard Engines, Powerboats, Powerboat World, Luxury Boats, Speedboats, Super Yachts, Interior Decoration of Boats and Yachts, Equipment, Accessories (marina equipment, boat equipment and accessories, boat tools, water sports clothing, etc.), Diving and diving equipment, Marine tourism and rowing, Sailing as well as Water sports (surfing, kneeboarding surfing, kite-surfing).
For another year, numerous activities took place within the framework of the Exhibition, in which the public could participate, which were a pole of attraction for visitors and contributed to the positive atmosphere that was maintained throughout the exhibition.
Sustainability of the marine environment
It is worth noting that this year’s event focused particularly on issues of sustainability and protection of the marine environment. Within the framework of the Blue Innovation Dock Forum, presentations and discussions were held on developments in the boat sector and innovative solutions in the fields of propulsion, fuels, and materials. In addition, the EU Agenda for a sustainable and competitive boat industry by 2030 was presented. The discussions focused on important current issues of concern to the industry such as alternative propulsion, natural materials, investment incentives for manufacturers, and renovation of marina infrastructure. Furthermore, through BOOT’s collaboration with the German Ocean Foundation, the Exhibition has been promoting important business initiatives for the protection of the oceans since 2017.
In total, 27 Greek companies and organizations participated in this year’s exhibition. The satisfaction survey conducted by the BOOT organizers shows that there was a high level of visitor satisfaction, with 94% of them stating that they were very satisfied with the range of motorized and sailing boats, surfing and diving equipment presented, as well as with the proposals for tourist products and boat charters. An important feature of the exhibition is its high international attendance both in terms of exhibitors and visitors. Over 63% of the exhibitors came from abroad, with major production countries such as Italy, the Netherlands and France leading the way.
The next BOOT will take place from 17 to 25 January 2026.
