Greek Tourism Minister meets Italian delegation ahead of 2025 Winter Special Olympics

The Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni, hosted a working breakfast for the members of the Italian Delegation, who are visiting Athens for the Lighting Ceremony of the Flame of Hope, in view of the 2025 World Winter Special Olympics, which will be held next March in Turin.

The Italian side attended the breakfast, accompanied by the Ambassador of Italy to Greece H.E. Mr. Paolo Cuculi, the Governor of the Piedmont Region, Mr. Alberto Cirio, the Mayor of Turin, Mr. Stefano Lo Russo, the President of the Turin 2025 Special Olympics Winter Games Committee, Ms. Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, as well as executives from the Piedmont Region, the Municipality of Turin and the Italian Embassy.

On the Greek side, the Minister was accompanied by Ms. Kefalogianni, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ms. E. Rapti, the Deputy Governor of Attica, Ms. Ch. Kefalogianni, the Vice President of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Mr. K. Zikos, the Director of the Minister’s Office, Mr. G. Papatzanis, the Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister, Mr. G. Dimitriadis and executives from the International Relations Directorate of the Ministry of Tourism.

The meeting took place in a particularly friendly and cordial atmosphere. The Minister of Tourism welcomed the guests, congratulating the neighboring country for hosting the Winter Special Olympics, underlining the close historical bonds of friendship that connect Greece with Italy, and emphasizing the global message of peace, solidarity, and unity that the Flame of Hope transmits as the ideal of Olympism, since antiquity.

The discussion also extended to issues of common tourist interest and in particular to the exchange of views on the further promotion and development of tourist relations between the Piedmont region and our country.
