The Region of Thessaly at the ITB Exhibition in Berlin

The Region of Thessaly participated for the first time with the new tourism identity in the largest and most important international tourism exhibition, ITB Berlin 2025. The Region’s mission, headed by the Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism, Ms. Natasa Adamopoulou, accompanied by the Regional Councillor for Sporades, Ms. Amalia Gravvani, was also attended by representatives of organizations and entrepreneurs from Thessaly.

Regarding B2B business contacts, meetings were held with Tour Operators and Travel Agencies, for which contacts the entrepreneurs of Thessaly’s Tourism have already been informed through their Organizations and Chambers.

Why Germans choose Germany

The general conclusion that emerges from the meetings is that Germans choose Greece mainly for their summer holidays, Sun and Sea, in the period from March to November. In addition to holidays in popular resorts, some also choose destinations for Walking Tourism, a particularly popular form in the countries of Central Europe.

During the Exhibition, Ms. Adamopoulou had the opportunity to present flavors of the region at a gastronomic event held at the GNTO pavilion.

On the sidelines of the participation, meetings were held with the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni, the Secretary General of the GNTO, Mr. Andreas Fiorentino, executives of SETE and Marketing Greece, and with the candidate for the position of Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Mr. Haris Theocharis. The support offered to all participants by the Director of the Greek National Tourism Organization in Germany, Ms. Nikolleta Lekanidi, was significant.

The next participation of the Region of Thessaly is scheduled for March 26 in Bucharest at the event “Choose Greece be Greek for a day”, in which a large participation of Romanian travel agencies is expected, which include destinations in Greece in their programs.
