ThermopylaeForum 2025: Strategic Dialogue for the Greece of Tomorrow

On May 15, at the Innovative Center for Historical Information of Thermopylae (K.I.E.Th), the Municipality of Lamia, the journalistic organization LamiaReport, and the Hellenic Institute for Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development (IEA) are planning to hold the Thermopylae Forum 2025 Strategic Conference.

This year’s Forum will focus on key issues that shape the Greece of the future, highlighting both the challenges and the opportunities. As part of the Conference, the established award ceremony for the Top Achievers of Fthiotida in last year’s Panhellenic Examinations will also take place.

According to the Municipality of Lamia, the Thermopylae Forum is not just a development conference, but a top-level meeting of personalities from the political, business, and academic worlds. Its aim is to have a substantive and open dialogue on the future directions of the Greek economy and society. It has now established itself as an institution that contributes to the formation of strategic thinking at the national level.

The Thermopylae Forum 2025 aspires to be a field for the exchange of know-how and innovative ideas, strengthening the interconnection of bodies, institutions, and private initiative. This year’s event marks yet another effort to strengthen the regional role of Phthiotis on the national and international map of dialogue and development.

As the Municipality points out, international experience shows that similar conference events have significant benefits for the local economy, tourism, society, and culture of the region.

In particular, conference tourism, which includes participation in forums, conferences, and professional events, is a driving force for development. It generates income, strengthens the local market, attracts high-income visitors, and promotes the place to a high-level audience. In addition, it increases the demand for tourism services such as accommodation, transportation, gastronomy, and cultural activities, while contributing to the extension of the tourist season, strengthening the fight against the seasonality of Greek tourism.

It is noted that this organization is under the honorary cooperation of the Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida and is supported by the Region of Central Greece.
