HCH | The Panhellenic Student Competition “I Paint Hospitality” is underway

The 1st Panhellenic Painting Competition for primary school students in the country is underway, entitled “I Paint Hospitality”, within the framework of the initiative “Hospitality with Value for All”, on the occasion of the completion of 90 years of operation of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels.

The competition is aimed at primary school students (grades 1-6) from all over Greece and aims to give space to the creative imagination of children and to highlight the concept of hospitality, as children perceive and attribute it in terms of artistic language. Participation is carried out electronically, and the students’ work will be posted until 31/05/2025 on a special platform.

The evaluation of the projects will take place between 01/06/2025 and 31/08/2025 by a Committee consisting of distinguished academics and representatives of the educational community. The competition will result in 18 winners (3 per grade A-F), and the prize will be a model, educational-cultural two-day hospitality for the students with their families and the responsible teacher. At the same time, the awarded projects will be hosted in a special album that will be published for the 90th anniversary of the Greek Educational Service Association.

  • The “I Paint Hospitality” competition was presented by the President of the Greek Educational Service Association, Mr. Alexandros Vassilikos, at a working meeting with the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Ms. Sofia Zacharaki, and the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni.

It is recalled that, at the initiative of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, two more programs have already been integrated into the country’s educational system since 2022-2023 and are available to the entire educational community. The Skills Development Program for 2nd and 3rd Grade Children is entitled “My Hospitality,” and the Skills Development, Counseling, and Career Guidance Program for 3rd Grade Students is entitled “Learning the Hospitality Professions”.

Referring to the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels’ initiative, the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, Ms. Sofia Zacharaki, stated: “I congratulate the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels for this new initiative it has undertaken, with the painting competition, through which the country’s young students will capture on a piece of paper their own ideas and proposals for Greek hospitality, which is also the core of Greek tourism. At the Ministry of Education, we support such initiatives, such as the educational program “My Hospitality,” which has been implemented since 2021 in the 1st and 2nd grades of primary school and we are supportive of the bodies that, with their actions, contribute to the cultivation of skills in our students.”

Subsequently, the Minister of Tourism, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni, pointed out: “The action of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels combines the creativity and imagination of young students with the promotion of the concept of Greek hospitality. Warm congratulations to the HCC for its initiative and contribution to strengthening tourism education.”

Concluding, the President of the HCC, Mr. Alexandros Vassilikos, emphasized: “Children and hospitality are the future of the country. That is why it is our constant goal to connect hospitality with education, not only from a professional perspective, but as an attitude to life. For the Greek Cultural Foundation, investing in children, education, and the culture of hospitality is an essential legacy for the future of our homeland.”
