Corfu | Honorary event at Mon Repos for the birthday of King Charles

The Mayor of Central Corfu and the Diapontian Islands, Stefanos Poulimenos, met with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Greece, Matthew Lodge, at the Historic Town Hall of Corfu, in the presence of Deputy Mayors Spyros Halikiopoulos and Christos Skourtis. The meeting was also attended by Vice Consul Alison Turney and the Embassy’s Events Manager, Zoe Kapareli.

The main topic was the organization of an honorary event at Mon Repos on June 11, to celebrate the birthday of King Charles. The event is under the auspices of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands.

The Ambassador expressed his great love for Corfu, which he visits often, highlighting the unique hospitality, authentic cultural identity, and friendly attitude of the residents. He warmly thanked the Municipality for its support and assured that the event would be held with absolute respect for the place and in continuous cooperation with the local authorities.

Mayor Stefanos Poulimenos stressed that the event is a sign of trust and appreciation for Corfu and an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Greece and the United Kingdom, based on mutual respect and a shared cultural heritage.
