Agenda | What to do this week (November 29-05)

Everything worth experiencing this week: From the French invasion at the Economou tavern and the chef’s table at Ark, to Dalida on stage, the Monophonics at Gazarte and the evergreen CATS.

The Chef’s Table: The new proposal from the team of Yannis Baxevanis at Ark

The “Chef’s Table” is the new tasting experience of Ark at Asteria Glyfada: a 12-seat chef’s table in front of the open kitchen, where each dish is created and set up in plain sight. Under the supervision of Yannis Baxevanis and with chef Dionysis Zacharopoulos signing the menu, the evening tells the story of Greece through the seasons, the raw materials and the simplicity of authentic taste. The welcome smells of sea and land: valley shrimp, pumpkin with za’atar, and the continuation suggests squid in apaki broth and blue crab with lemon mustard. For main courses, fish of the day with smoked onion and fava “pasta” or pork belly and fillet with quince, while the finale is written with almond parfait and plum babas. From Friday 31/10 and every Friday & Saturday night. Reservations: 2108948882

Monophonics — Live at Gazarte

The leading psychedelic soul band from San Francisco returns to Athens for two nights with analog heat, psychedelic groove and vocal explosion from the emblematic frontman/producer Kelly Finnigan. We expect a set full of narrative intensity and “cinematic” rhythm from the albums Sage Motel and It’s Only Us. Soul, 60s psych and modern funk, since everything they do in the studio (sound, careful orchestrations) takes off on stage from this dynamic band, with dense brass and plenty of emotion. One of the reasons why the Greek audience loves them. Gazarte, Voutadon 34, Gazi, Friday October 31 & Saturday November 1, 2025

The objects of desire of Stathis Alexopoulos at NYX

The new solo show by Stathis Alexopoulos transforms the NYX Esperia Palace into a living exhibition space, marrying hospitality with contemporary art. Sculptures inspired by speed, freedom, nostalgia and love. From the iconic forms of the Jaguar E-Type and Porsche 911 to Formula 1, the vintage Lambretta, the PlayStation joystick and the iconic heart shape, he reconstructs “objects of desire” as contemporary works with a strong emotional charge. The award-winning artist lives and works in Athens. He studied Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tinos and at the Department of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (graduating with distinction). Opening Friday, October 31, 19:00 · Duration until 30/11. NYX Esperia Palace Hotel Athens, Stadiou 22 & Eduardou Lo.

Taverna Paris × Taverna Economou: For one day only

An Athenian classic, “Taverna Economou” meets Parisian savoir-faire for a cosmopolitan takeover of just 24 hours. Chef Paul-Henri Bayart from Taverna Paris “converses” with the tradition of Economou in a curated tasting menu of 10–12 courses: from emblematic mezes (meatballs, dolma, taramo salad) to tavern favorites, reinterpreted with delicacy and French precision. Service runs all day for lunch (déjeuner in French), dinner (diner) and everything in between, while the impressive, exclusively Greek wine list opens special bottles and serves generously by the glass pairings. Two cities, one narrative: hospitality, sharing, urban aesthetics. On Monday, November 3rd at the “Tavern of Economou” (Kydantidon 32 & Troon 41, Petralona, Reservations: 210 346 7555)

Dalida: Singing until the end

Dalida returns to the stage through a simple, moving musical theater portrait. Eva Kotanidi (who also signs the texts together with Efstathia Mantzoufa) does not imitate, but embodies the woman behind the myth, between light and shadow. The direction of Nektaria Giannoudaki illuminates the internal cracks, while Pantelis Benetatos accompanies discreetly on the piano, leaving room for the voice and the gaze.
A performance-confession about the glory, loneliness and the truth behind the songs. Athens Concert Hall, Music Library – Teaching Hall. Every Thursday & Friday, 21:00

CATS: Memory Comes Alive Again

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s multi-award winning musical, based on the poetry collection of T.S. Eliot, returns with impressive sets, powerful choreography and the iconic performance of “Memory”. Every year, on the night of the Jellicle Ball, the Jellicle Cats gather to be chosen – by the wise Old Deuteronomy – the cat who will be reborn to a new life in the Heaviside Layer. The groundbreaking musical offers a unique blend of music, dance and poetry. With a live orchestra and an exceptional cast, CATS promises a theatrical experience for audiences of all ages. Athens: 5–9 November 2025 | Christmas Theater
and Thessaloniki: 12–16 November 2025 | Concert Hall.
