The Air Force is honoring its Patron Saint, Archangel Michael, with a rich program of events starting on Wednesday, November 5 and ending on Sunday, November 9, 2025, across the country. At the heart of this year’s celebration is the public’s engagement with the mission, history and contemporary role of the Air Force, through information, education and entertainment activities.
In the meantime, from Friday, October 31st to Sunday, November 2nd, a free-admission exhibition stand will be open at Syntagma metro station, where visitors will have the opportunity to try out flight simulators and F-35s, explore a virtual reality environment, get to know the Icarus School and the Air Force Non-Commissioned Officers School, as well as see static exhibits up close.
Throughout the week, educational school visits to Air Force units, air sports and aeromodelling club activities will take place, while social service events are also planned at the 112th Combat Wing, with aircraft flyovers over cities, islands and remote areas.
At this point, it should be emphasized that the culmination of the celebration will be on Saturday, November 8, with a memorial service and wreath-laying at the Fallen Airmen Monument in Dhekelia, the official celebration at the Icarus School and the established Open Day from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The public will have the opportunity to participate in a number of interactive activities – flight simulators, VR, a photography contest, an aeromodeling workshop, children’s sports with Olympic champions and a drone show – while the day will conclude with a concert by the Hellenic Air Force Band.
At the same time, impressive air shows will be held in Chania, Kavala, Alexandroupoli, Larissa, Kalamata and Flisvos, with the participation of F-16 fighters of the “ZEUS” team, T-6A “Daedalus” trainers, Rafale and F-35 aircraft, as well as the historic Spitfire in formation with T-6 Harvard.
It is worth noting that the country’s Air Bases will be open to the public, giving young and old the opportunity to get to know the crews and the means that serve the security of the skies. This year’s event, as noted, aims to connect citizens with the Air Force and to highlight its timeless contribution to the homeland.
