GNTO: Support for international sports conferences and events in November

Top international conferences and a dance sports event with significant international appeal are taking place in the coming weeks in Athens and Kalamata with the support and under the auspices of the GNTO. These are the Sport Tourism Forum 2025, the 7th Kalamata Dance Cup 2025 and the 15th World Coaches Congress, which, in addition to their high sporting and scientific interest, also contribute to the promotion of the regions where they are held and our country in general as ideal destinations for sports and conference tourism.

The Sport Tourism Forum 2025 will take place at the War Museum of Athens tomorrow, November 11 and the day after, November 12, with the participation of tourism professionals, members of tourism committees, representatives of the sports world and executives of sports facilities, experts, academic, national and regional organizations, representatives of the Local Government, athletes, students, etc. The main objective of the Sport Tourism Forum is to highlight the close link between sports and tourism, to examine how sports tourism can be a source of development and promotion for local and global destinations, to strengthen innovative actions and to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experiences in this field.

The 7th Kalamata Dance Cup 2025 will be held next weekend, November 15 and 16, at the city’s “Tenta” sports and cultural events hall. More than 1,000 athletes of all levels from 15 countries and three continents will compete in over 20 types of dance, while dance seminars by renowned coaches-teachers will be held, as well as creative dance workshops for people with or without disabilities. In addition to the spread of dance sports in Greece, the organizers’ goals also include the active promotion of the city of Kalamata and the wider region as a destination for multidisciplinary experiences.

Finally, the 15th World Coaching Congress will be held at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens, from 20 to 23 November 2025, with the theme “The Coach in a Rapidly Evolving Technological Society: Developing Skills for 2030 and Beyond”. The conference is organized by the Panhellenic Federation of Sports Coaches (POPA) in collaboration with the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) and aims to highlight contemporary trends in coaching. As the world’s leading conference on coaching science and coaching, it will feature leading scientists from international universities, who will present the results of their research in a wide range of disciplines related to coaching, and leading figures from international sports who will share their knowledge and experiences from their sporting careers.
