Kavala is strengthening its presence on the winter tourism map, planning for December 22 the new Thracian Sea Festival event in the city’s central square, where the popular artist Myronas Stratis will appear. The action is implemented by the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, with the aim of stimulating visitor numbers and promoting the region during the winter months.
In particular, the event, which has been established as an institution for promoting the maritime identity and cultural heritage of the region, returns with a festive concert that is expected to attract residents and visitors, contributing to the creation of a lively atmosphere in the city center.
According to the Region, the initiative aims to capitalize on the popularity of the well-known artist in order to enhance the visibility of Kavala and the wider region, giving travelers a reason to choose the city during the winter season as well. The logic behind the action is linked to the strategy of promoting Eastern Macedonia and Thrace as a four-season destination, with the Region seeking to support the local market, strengthen tourist extroversion and attract visitors looking for an authentic, seaside and at the same time festive destination.
At the same time, the event is expected to operate complementary to the program of festive activities of Kavala and the other cities of the Region, aiming to create a single, coherent narrative framework that highlights the region as a winter reference point. The choice of December 22nd gives the event a festive momentum, just before Christmas, the period when the city is filled with lights, markets and visitors seeking atmosphere and seascapes away from the more familiar winter mountain options.
In this way, Kavala attempts to confirm that its identity is not limited to the summer months but maintains vitality, culture and maritime charm all year round.
