Low temperatures alert the biological clock of bears in Greece

The bears in the “Arcturus” Sanctuary of Nymfaio, Florina, hibernated because the very low temperatures and the snow alerted their biological clock.    

“The oldest bears first went to sleep followed by the younger ones who had come from the Zoo in Thessaloniki” Panos Stephanou from “Arcturus” said in statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).

 The shelter accommodates 15 bears while another four, that have not “slept”, live in another shelter.
