A decade after the documentary AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH brought the climate crisis to the heart of popular culture, NGO ECOWEEK once again hosts the fascinating sequel AN INCONVENIENT SEQUEL: TRUTH TO POWER that shows how close we are to a real energy revolution.
Ten years ago, ECOWEEK promoted AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH to dozens of private and public schools in Greece, Cyprus and Italy, invited the general public to dozens of public screenings across Greece, and invited Al Gore to present his slideshow on Climate Change at the Athens Concert Hall in June 2007.
Ten years later, the former Vice President and Nobel Prize Laureate Al Gore continues his inexhaustible struggle, traveling around the world, training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. In the sequel AN INCONVENIENT SEQUEL: TRUTH TO POWER, the photographic cameras of Bonnie Cohen and John Senn follow Gore behind the scenes – in private and public moments, funny and poignant – as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
In July 2017 the premiere of the new documentary took place in the United States. The world is re-awakening to Gore’s call to hear the environmental message and take an active part in resolving it.
Concurrently with the premieres of the documentary around the world, ECOWEEK hosts the Greek Premiere of AN INCONVENIENT SEQUEL: TRUTH TO POWER at Cine Olympia in Aegina on Monday August 28 at 9 pm. An introduction and Q&A with the chairman of ECOWEEK Dr. Elias Messinas will be included. Film duration 100’. English with Greek subtitles. Admission 3 euro.
NGO ECOWEEK was founded in 2005 in Aegina with the mission to raise environmental awareness and promote the principles of sustainability. ECOWEEK is currently active in 17 countries and has developed a network of members in 56 countries.
