Young bears take their promenade on Kastoria lakeside in northern Greece

Two young bears have been seen wandering around a lake on the outskirts of the northern Greek city of Kastoria, near the entrance to the city, ANA reports.

According to witness accounts on Thursday afternoon, the two animals were sighted by passing motorists while walking on a lakeside road near a location known as Petra. They appeared unperturbed by the dozens of motorists that stopped their cars and came out to take photos.

Authorities instantly alerted a wildlife rescue team set up by the bear conservation group Arcturos with the forestry department and the police, which mounted a coordinated operation to take the cubs to a nearby mountain.
