The need to protect migratory birds and their habitats at all different levels and in all parts of the world is the focus of the World Migratory Birds Day, which will be celebrated twice a year: The second Saturday of May and October, ANA reports.
Twice a year, in the spring and autumn, billions of birds move around covering huge distances across the planet. Migratory birds use three main routes: African-Eurasian, East Asian-Australian and American. Arctic Tern Sterna Paradisae is a champion on these trips. A truly unique species migrating from the Arctic to Antarctica and back again every year.
