Lights out at the Acropolis on Saturday for “Earth Hour”

Hundreds of cities and emblematic monuments around the world, will turn off the lights on Saturday (30/03) for an hour, to participate to the annual event “Earth Hour”, which aims at mobilizing people to combat climate change and raise awareness about energy conservation, int.ert.gr reports.

Citizens all over the planet are invited to turn off the lights for an hour, sending a decisive message of participation regarding environmental protection. 

On Saturday, many buildings and monuments will be dark for an hour, including the Acropolis, the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House, Big Ben, the Kremlin and the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio.
