Alternate Environment and Energy Minister Sokratis Famellos and Serbian Minister of Environmental Protection Goran Trivan signed a memorandum of cooperation on the protection of the environment, in Belgrade on Friday, ANA reports.
The Greek minister noted that Greece strongly supports Serbia’s efforts to become an EU member, and to join other organisations like the United Nations and UNEP.
On his part, Trivan said the signing of the memorandum a very important development: “In the coming years, Serbia and Greece will achieve broad collaboration in the fields of recycling, liquid and solid waste treatment and management of hazardous waste, along with the protection of the environment and biodiversity, and the management of protected regions”.
Famellos is paying a two-day visit to Belgrade as of Thursday, escorted by 16 enterpreneurs from Greece who are active in the sector of environment protection.
