Greenpeace and the Ecological Recycling Society on Wednesday urged the environment ministry to revoke a license given to a plasma waste incineration plant designed to burn 116,000 tonnes of waste a year, signed by the previous alternate environment minister Sokratis Famellos two days before the elections, ANA reports.
The two groups question the need for the unit and call for a national and regional waste policy that follows international priorities (prevention, reuse, recycling, composting and final management) and attains agreed targets.
