New Democracy (ND) became the first political entity in Greece to implement a program of rewarding recycling, the party announced on Tuesday, implementing the action at the party’s headquarters in June, according to ANA.
‘Rewarding Packaging Recycling’ is an agency set up in June 2019 by the Greek state as per law 4496 of 2017 for the promotion and development of packaging recycling in Greece. It is the sole official body that has created comprehensive recycling programs to fulfill the legal obligation to separate recyclable packaging.
The Rewarding Packaging Recycling’s program offers 0.30 euro for every single plastic, metal or glass item collected to the Social Cooperative Company “New Horizons”, which facilitates the social reintegration of former prison inmates.
