Greek premier's spouse takes part in cleanup of Kissamos Gulf sea and beach

Mareva Mitsotakis, the spouse of the prime minister, participated in the cleanup of beaches and Kissamos Gulf sea near Chania, on Crete, on Friday in an initiative of the local township with the help of the A.C. Laskaridis Foundation, which lent its ship “Tyfonas” (Typhoon), ANA reports.

Mitsotakis lauded efforts to remove garbage from the shores and inaccessible beaches of the Kissamos area and expressed the hope for more such initiatives. Referring to EU fines over waste disposal, she said keeping the environment clean is important also in terms of the food chain.
