Greek PM presents plans to convert Greece into a green energy hub for Europe

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to depart for Glasgow on Monday, where he will be speaking at the COP26 UN climate change conference, ANA reports.

Government sources said that Mitsotakis will outline the Greek government’s sweeping green transition program and the actions being planned, such as phasing out lignite and increasing the share of renewable energy sources through new ambitious initiatives like offshore wind parks and measures for “green” shipping and to protect ecosystems.

Mitsotakis will emphasize plans to convert Greece into a green energy hub for Europe based on the recent deal with Egypt and talks underway with Saudi Arabia.
