A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Vasilis Kikilias, the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO), and the Hellenic Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO) for the establishment of fire protection zones in forest areas of Attica, on Thursday.
These fire protection zones include Parnitha, Dionysus, Pentelicus, and Hymettus mounts, areas identified by the fire brigade as extremely vulnerable within Attica. Through this memorandum of cooperation, the ministry aims to improve the operational planning for this year’s fire protection period, focusing on prevention.
