The Municipality of Kimolos is preparing intensively in view of the planning for the systematic approach of markets in Greece and abroad. The strategy and action plan have already been prepared after repeated meetings of Mayor Konstantinos Ventouris, Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Kanas and the President of the Tourist Committee Konstantinos Moustakas with the Municipality’s consulting company.
The submission for approval to the Tourist Committee, the Municipal Council, and the Greek National Tourism Organization is expected, while exploratory contacts are already being made with the Greek National Tourism Organization’s offices abroad and other international connections in order to prepare the ground for the implementation of promotion actions.
Abundance of publications
In the meantime, there have been a lot of publications that have emerged recently about the Cycladic islands. Blogger Tess Slot, who specializes in luxury tourism, recently wrote “You will fall in love with Kimolos instantly..” while the global technology and travel giant AMAZON included Kimolos along with Milos in its travel guide for 2025 with the comment: “Where tranquility meets taste – A gastronomic and cultural adventure in the Aegean.”
A similar travel guide for the island was also reproduced on Pinterest, and at the same time, British Tour Operator Sunvil included Kimolos in its 2025 trips, writing on its website: “Although tourism is starting to develop, the combination of still limited beds and the lack of large ships means that Kimolos avoids the crowds that now flock to the more famous islands.”
Also important was the promotion through the world-renowned travel magazine “Travel and Leisure” which highlighted Prassa beach as one of the two best in Greece (along with Egremni in Lefkada) and was reproduced in all Greek media, with the actions of the consulting company MTC, last month. Earlier, the travel blog “My Elated Odyssey” wrote: “Kimolos is a paradise in the Cyclades, known for its beautiful central village, stunning beaches and coves and crystal clear waters. The island is not widely known, but it is an excellent choice for a peaceful getaway. It is undisturbed by mass tourism and one of the most picturesque in the Cyclades. It is something you will not want to miss.”
Finally, the ERT show “Ftasame” had a great impact on the Greek market, which is already preserved in the ERTFLIX archive. The trip was organized by MTC and promoted through press releases throughout Greece in consultation with the Municipality, while the contribution of Sea Jet, which provided the tickets, was also significant, thanks to the cooperation of the ferry company with the consulting company.
