Greece holds the first place in the special vote for the most beautiful and picturesque countries in the world, as perceived by tourists, according to U.S. News & World Report.
“These distinctions highlight the global recognition of Greece’s natural beauty and cultural heritage! Greece is famous for its stunning landscapes, which include ancient monuments, crystal clear waters and picturesque islands. These characteristics make it a top destination for travelers from all over the world,” noted Angela Gerekou, president of the Hellenic National Tourism Organization, in a recent intervention.
The ranking work is based on how global perceptions define countries in terms of several qualitative characteristics – impressions that have the potential to influence trade, travel, and investment and can directly impact national economies.
