Dimitris Tryfonopoulos assumed his duties as the new Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) today, in the presence of Alternate Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Elena Kountoura.
Mr.Tryfonopoulos was born in 1969 in Athens and he has 24 years experience in the private sector, having served in senior executive positions in Greek and multinational companies such as Hellenic Postbank, Eurobank Ergasias, Post Insurance (Subsidiary Brokerage-Insurance Company of TT and ELTA), Groupama Phoenix, Estee Lauder Hellas, etc.
Immediate departure
He holds an MBA postgraduate degree (Master in Business Administration) from the University of Louisville Kentucky, USA, and speaks two foreign languages (English and French).
He is married and has one daughter.
Immediately after after taking office, the new Secretary General departed with Alternate Minister Elena Kountoura for Thessaloniki to participate in the opening of the 31st International Tourism Exhibition Philoxenia, which takes place there.
