Vicky Kalogera, the Greek astrophysicist and professor at the University of Northwestern Illinois, was awarded the Dannie N. Heineman Award for Astrophysics for 2018.
The prize is awarded by the American Institute of Physics and the American Astronomical Society to distinguish Kalogera’s work on black holes, neutron stars and white dwarfs.
“It’s a great honor for me to win the Heineman Award,” Kologera noted while she continues to contribute significantly to the research for gravitational waves from black holes and neutron stars.
