Two new connections to Athens are starting in February from Iraq and Israel.
Specifically, on February 7, the Israeli airline Israir is starting the Eilat – Athens connection. The route will be operated twice a week with an A320 aircraft.
Israir is the largest tour operator and second-largest airline in Israel, and specializes in vacation packages to the Mediterranean and Europe for middle-class Israelis at competitive prices. The flights it operates are scheduled and chartered and carry over 1 million passengers annually on international and domestic flights to Eilat.
At the same time, from the beginning of the new year, Aegean will connect Athens with Iraq, with direct flights from Athens Airport to Erbil International Airport starting on February 23 and operating twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday, with an A320 aircraft.
