More than half (54%) of new cruise travelers in 2024 said they would like to take more cruises in the next two years. The main reasons cited for their increased desire are:
- in the next two years, 43% of respondents said they would retire and therefore have more free time (23%),
- avoid the hassle of flying (19%),
- value for money (18%) and
- the convenience of visiting multiple destinations in one trip (15%).
The survey was conducted among more than 8,000 cruise.co.uk and seascanner.co.uk customers.
The survey also revealed that 94% of first-time cruise customers last year were satisfied or very satisfied with their cruise experience.
Cruise.co.uk CEO Tony Andrews said the findings reinforce the empirical view that first-time cruise visitors were delighted with their experience. He said:
“The fact that so many new cruise visitors are rating their experience positively is a testament to the incredible service, value, and variety that a cruise can offer. With more ships, destinations, and experiences available than ever before, the cruise industry is well positioned for continued growth.”
