HCAA: Firefighters’ refresher training at regional airports

HCAA Firefighters successfully completed their refresher training, organized through the Civil Aviation School (SPOA) of the HCAA, at the training field located at the Elefsina military airport.

The basic refresher training of HCAA Firefighters lasts up to six (6) weeks, and for the need to simulate real conditions, the HCAA has a mock aircraft with wing, fuselage, and engine. The refresher training also includes passenger rescue exercises, through simulation, which aim to prepare the trainee firefighter drivers and familiarize them with corresponding situations.

The Hellenic Aviation Authority (HCAA) is currently inviting applications for targeted transfers of 75 positions of Firefighters from the wider Public sector to its regional airports. Applications are being accepted until March 10, 2025
