Today, the first direct LOT flight from Warsaw to Thessaloniki

The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTH) welcomes today, Tuesday, June 17, the first direct LOT Polish Airlines flight from Warsaw, inaugurating a new era in the air connection between Thessaloniki and Poland.

This development is the result of targeted contacts that began as early as 2024, within the framework of the new strategy for the sustainable tourism development of the city, launched by the Mayor of Thessaloniki and President of TTH, Stelios Angeloudis.

The direct air connection is of exceptional importance for Thessaloniki. It enhances accessibility, attracts new groups of visitors, stimulates city break tourism, and makes the destination more attractive for the rapidly growing Polish tourist market.

LOT flights will operate daily until October 31, while during the winter season (November – March), they will operate four times a week.

On the occasion of the inaugural flight, representatives of Polish media are arriving in Thessaloniki, as part of a press trip organized by the Polish National Tourism Organization, in collaboration with LOT and with the support of the Hellenic Tourist Board, for the maximum possible promotion of Thessaloniki to the Polish public. The mission includes journalists from National Geographic Polska, Radio ZET, wp.pl, Gazeta.pl, and Onet.pl, the largest digital media outlet in Poland.

The general coordination of the action is carried out by Mr. Dimitris Vasiliadis, Director of the Greek National Tourist Organization of Poland, who plays a decisive role in the tourism promotion of Greece in Central Europe, in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, which remains firmly committed to the goal of strengthening the international presence of Thessaloniki as an authentic, quality and multidimensional tourist destination.
