New and enhanced flights to Greece in winter and summer 2026

Greece is entering the aviation map in 2026, with international carriers strengthening their winter and summer connections to the country. From United Airlines and IndiGo to Cyprus Airways and Air Canada, new routes and increased capacities are upgrading travelers’ accessibility to Athens and major destinations in the country.

In particular, United Airlines is replacing the 787-8 aircraft with a 777-200ER, offering greater capacity on the daily seasonal flight from Washington (Dulles) to Athens, which will begin on April 30, 2026. This connection significantly strengthens the flow of passengers from the US, offering more seats to the country.

The summer flights of the Swiss airline Chair Airlines to Patras will start earlier. These are the routes Zurich – Patras – Vlora – Zurich and Zurich – Vlora – Patras – Zurich, which are scheduled to start on June 13 and 10 respectively, compared to the initial start schedule on June 29 and 26. The flights will be operated with an A319 aircraft, with a frequency of once a week.

The Indian low-cost airline IndiGo announced the start of the new Delhi – Athens route, starting on January 23 and with a frequency of 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and an A321XLR aircraft. According to the February schedule, flight 6E1901 will depart Delhi at 09:10 arriving in Athens at 14:25, while flight 6E1902 will depart Athens at 16:00 arriving in Delhi at 03:10 the next day.

IndiGo is also launching Mumbai-Athens service, starting on January 23, with 3 weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and an A321XLR aircraft. Flight 6E1903 will depart Mumbai at 09:50 arriving in Athens at 14:15 and flight 6E1904 at 15:25 from Athens arriving in Mumbai at 02:00 the next day.

In the winter schedule of 2025/26, Cyprus Airways will re-introduce the Larnaca – Heraklion connection from December 2025. The connection will be operated with an Airbus A220 aircraft, starting on December 19, 2025. The flights will be operated twice a week, every Monday and Friday, with an Airbus A220 aircraft.

Specifically, flight CY460 will depart from Larnaca on Monday at 10:00, arriving in Heraklion at 11:30, and on Friday from Larnaca at 17:30, arriving in Heraklion at 19:00. Flight CY461 will depart Heraklion on Monday at 12:30, arriving in Larnaca at 14:00, and on Friday from Heraklion at 20:00, arriving in Larnaca at 21:30.

Discover Airlines is temporarily upgrading its Munich – Heraklion Crete connection, planning to use an Airbus A330-300 aircraft on this route in November 2025. The Airbus A330-300 will replace the A320 on two flights, on 1 and 8 November 2025, offering increased capacity.

According to the schedule, flight 4Y1260 departs Munich at 05:50 arriving in Heraklion at 09:30 and flight 4Y1261 departs Heraklion at 10:30 arriving in Munich at 12:15. Discover Airlines serves the Munich-Heraklion route a total of nine times a week.

In addition, Air Canada is expanding its codeshare agreement with Aegean Airlines, for two additional routes to and from Athens. These are the Athens-Istanbul and Athens-Tirana routes, which will be operated by Aegean, and began on October 26.

Aegean is also expanding its codeshare cooperation with Air Serbia with three additional routes to and from Belgrade, which began on October 26. Thus, Air Serbia operates Aegean routes from Belgrade to Ljubljana, Skopje and Zagreb.

At the same time, Wizz Air UK’s London – Athens route is being completed, with the last flight scheduled for November 3, 2025. The flights were daily, and were operated with Airbus A321neo aircraft.
