ITA Airways has announced the resumption of direct flights between Rome (Fiumicino) and Tel Aviv (Ben Gurion) from January 1, 2026, restoring an important air link between Italy and Israel.
The airline will operate two daily routes with the Airbus A321neo, which features three seat classes — Business, Premium Economy and Economy — offering new levels of comfort, technology and sustainability.
Two flights per day
The first flight (AZ806) will depart Rome at 09:15 and arrive in Tel Aviv at 13:35, with the return flight (AZ807) departing at 14:55 and landing in Rome at 17:40.
The second (AZ810) will depart Rome at 22:50 and arrive in Tel Aviv at 03:10, while the return (AZ809) will take place at 05:15 arriving in Rome at 08:05.
The program allows same-day connections via the Rome hub to destinations in Europe, North America and Asia.
New generation aircraft and sustainable operations
The A321neo offers more than 20% lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to older models, as part of ITA Airways’ strategy for environmentally responsible development.
The company continues to renew its fleet with A220, A320neo, A321neo and A330neo aircraft, while investing in digital innovation and an upgraded customer experience.
“Strategic importance” for Italy and Israel
“The resumption of Rome-Tel Aviv flights is of strategic importance for ITA Airways and Italy, strengthening the commercial, social and cultural ties between the two countries,” the company said.
Tickets are already available through the website ita-airways.com, the call center, travel agencies and airport ticket offices.
ITA Airways, which is 59% owned by the Italian Ministry of Finance and 41% by Lufthansa, continues to consolidate its position as Italy’s national carrier and a key link between Europe and the Middle East.
